The Care Services Platform
Nurse Next Door’s franchise concept has always been built around one key, unique differentiator — centralisation. We believe our Franchise Partners should be out in their community, not stuck behind a desk. What started as a 24/7 call centre to manage scheduling has evolved into so much more!
The Nurse Next Door brand and marketing systems are designed to get your phone to ring. Once they do, our Intakes Team is responsible for answering customer inquiries around the clock!
We monitor visit attendance to ensure the safety of your clients and caregivers. Always know what’s happening in your business and know that your business’ reputation is secure.
Scheduling is essential in this business and it can be overwhelming. That’s why we have a dedicated, 24/7 team to handle your scheduling so you can focus on building the business.
Enjoy a centralised dashboard for resources, education and system news, a cloud-based scheduling program and more. We believe in innovation and finding a better way!
Your business is supported 24/7. From scheduling changes to client inquiries, we are there to answer your calls, around the clock, 365 days of the year.

Happier Ageing Philosophy
Nurse Next Door is a premium home care brand and that means we deliver a premium experience we call it Happier Ageing. We believe, deeply, that ageing should be the best part of life which is why we work to get our clients back to doing the things they love to do.
Happier Ageing means reconnecting older people with interests, hobbies, and passions that might have gotten lost amid busy schedules, health concerns, or other distractions. It could be something simple such as tabletop gardening for those with a green thumb or learning how to cook a new dish, because love is in the details!
When we meet our clients for the first time, we ask them, “What do you love doing but you no longer do?” and work to infuse that into every visit. It’s about the little things and really connecting with our clients.
In a space as competitive as home care, you need a brand that turns heads. The Nurse Next Door brand’s icon is a flower-heart bursting with joy in the colors yellow and pink. It symbolises our core purpose of Making Lives Better and unique trademark concept of Happier Ageing™.
Our bold brand serves as a huge advantage when our Franchise Partners are in the community. The pop of colours and our equally bright attitudes makes us stand out from the crowd—quite literally!
Nurse Next Door offers all components of care, from companionship right up to skilled nursing. Our support team will guide you through the state licensing process. This allows you to be the one-stop-shop for home care, expanding your reach of clients in the community.
Whether it’s a little help around the house with chores, meal prep, personal care or nursing care, we can do the caring. We provide premium home care to both older Australians and people living with a disability, so they can continue to live happily at home!
Our Core Purpose is Making Lives Better:
we bring this to life everyday through our Core Values.
Our Core Values
Why our health care business partners thrive
Many companies have core values in their mission statement, but few truly live by them. Nurse Next Door is one of those few.
Core values are part of our DNA — it is the filter that our Leadership Team uses for decision-making, how our caregivers engage with clients, and how those who are lucky enough to become a Franchise Partner operate their business.
Our clients aren’t just case files. They’re real people.
Wow Customer Service
“Good” just won’t do. We don’t rest until we’ve exceeded expectations.
Find a Better Way
We try new things and grow through innovation.
Passionate About Making a Difference
We look for people who genuinely care about what they’re doing.
Nurse Next Door’s Painted Picture
Our vision for the future, September 2022
It’s not just Nurse Next Door’s brand that is bold. We are also bold when it comes to goal setting. Our Leadership Team has planned out goals for the company for the next 12-18 months, including elevating our client experience, people promise, technology stack and more. By having these plans laid out, ensures the Nurse Next Door team continues to provide excellent services and be a disruptor in the home care industry.
We believe in transparency and so we’re sharing our Painted Picture publicly online so you can learn more about Nurse Next Door’s objectives and what we envision for September 2022.
The Nurse Next Door Story – Canada
Co-founders John DeHart and Ken Sim found an opportunity when Ken’s wife went on emergency bed rest while pregnant.
Looking into the home health care business industry further, John and Ken found sterile businesses that provided the basics, making life only slightly more bearable for their clients. They knew that they could create something better and launched Nurse Next Door in 2001.

The Nurse Next Door Story – Australia
Founders of Nurse Next Door Australia, Amber Biesse and Matt Fitton, were living in Vancouver, Canada when they noticed the pink Nurse Next Door cars driving around their local neighbourhood and decided to look them up.
Having already identified that the combination of an ageing population and the NDIS revolutionising the disability space, was creating compelling business advantages for entrepreneurs. With a new strategic focus in the Australian market on the end consumer, in terms of customer service and client experience, ironically requiring a “hospitality” mindset – Amber and Matt knew that they could create something special in Australia with the brand and launched Nurse Next Door into the Australian market in 2018.
